Nothing {An Adoption Update}

I'm having trouble uploading pictures. If you want the play by play of our life you can follow me on Instagram @smalltownjoy. I have all but abandoned my camera. I'll pick it back up directly.

We held our breath all month long hoping for "nothing" to happen. In the end, there was nothing, and we've all let out a big sigh of relief. In true fashion for this case, there was a little drama involved, but clearly God had his hand in orchestrating things just right and "nothing" prevailed. I love nothing.

Here's the skinny: one day next week we should receive a court date for our case to be heard. The date will likely be 6-8 weeks out. On that date we might be granted adoption, or we may be asked to give the birth parent additional time (probably 30 days). At this point our "nothing" we are so excited about is the same as a "consent to adopt" in our state. There's also a chance that the judge could suggest a trial, although we are told no one expects that to happen, but it could happen). The price difference is huge.

In the meantime, we are running around like crazy people having physicals done and paperwork updated because, wouldn't you know it, everything in our homestudy expires this month and has to be redone.

We have just a short time left to make sure we have all of the funds we need. God has moved some hearts in a remarkable way in the last week. I don't know why I am always so surprised with the ways He chooses to lavishly bless us, yet here I am again. God has clearly set aside this path especially for our girl. This ONE child.

There are some exciting things going on over here. I'll be back on Monday to share the news, you surely don't want to miss it! It is going to knock your socks off!

Have a good weekend, friends!

God is good, all the time!
