Love and all that Jazz

Today I am thankful.

Thankful for my God, who first loved me. Who sent His Son. Who loved me too.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life."
John 3:16

Truth.

I am thankful too for the love in my family. For the love of adoption. That love knows no color. No social stature. No geographical border.

For the Krispy Kreme doughnuts that brought me hugs from my teenager before the crack of dawn this morning. For the cowboy that swooned my girl first thing.

I've been thinking a lot this morning about my aunt. She loved big.

She went to be with Jesus last year, but before she did she prayed our adoption up one side and down the other. She walked this journey with us in the earliest steps. She fervently prayed that God would send us a firecracker of a girl (so, technically, we know whose to blame here!).

Whenever we saw this precious soul she would always grab us tight, each one, and say "I love ya and there ain't a thing you can do about it."

We learned so much about love and prayer from her. We surely do miss her presence here on Earth, but I wouldn't snatch her from the left side of her Creator for a skinny minute. She couldn't wait to meet Him.

Today we honor her, by loving others,  just the way she did.

Love BIG, peeps. It's the only way.

God is good, all the time!
