To say that God knocked our socks off this weekend would be the understatement of the century. I feel like I was blind-sided by God's outpouring of love for us over the course of the weekend. There were six generous souls who donated to us during the course of the last four days. One of those souls blessed us with a $1000.00 donation. Four days in a row. From Australia.
People. Only God can orchestrate that.
Our weekend donations totaled $4360.00 putting us over the meter to $9055.00! I am physically shaking my head as I type. Only God.
I mentioned a while back that we're not exactly sure how much we need to finish. We added another court date in unexpectedly, and there still could be yet another one uncounted for to come. We really won't know until we're there. What I do know is that God has already gone before us, paved the way, set things in motion and finished what HE started. That's what I know.
Bam! (or Bazinga, for Janie)
So thank you friends!!! YOU all helped to do this!
Party planning is in full swing. You know me, everything will be done on a shoestring budget. We've loosely "set" the date hinging on how things play out next month. We're serving cupcakes, because they are our girl's most favorite. Some sweet friends are helping me plan and decorate and our family will be baking up a storm. We're twisting people's arm to jump on planes and fly over for a spell. We will celebrate, and it will be good.
Also, in case you were wondering, no, I do not have enough washi tape. Send more. xxoo
My girl and I were flying solo Friday night whilst all three of our boys were off gallivanting at the youth lock-in. I was super excited about us having the house all to ourselves, so I planned us a pajama party. Party of two.
Friday afternoon, just as we entered the school pick-up line to scoop up our Riley-boy, Little Sister fell victim to the trickery of the Sandman and fell into Dreamland.
Well, actually, this is a more accurate story:
Little Sister has a new partner in crime named Aubree. They are two peas in a pod. They go together like peanut butter and jam (only my girl hates peanut butter). Their brown skin matches up tight. And by "partner in crime" I mean keep everyone else in their class awake during nap time by talking and giggling and causing a real ruckus while the poor teacher is just trying to have two hours of peace while her children sleep.
Instead, my girl and her sidekick instill mayhem on the room. When I arrived everyone was out of control off their mats and running the room. The teacher was nearly in tears and my little precious angel was in the corner. Her counter-part diagonal across the room.

Fast forward.
So, as we enter the pick-up line, Little Sister can no longer hold her eyes open and falls asleep. Snoring. (She's a big snorer. Yes, I realize that isn't a word.)
She slept for the next three and a half hours. I counted it bliss. I cleaned the kitchen.
Around dinner time we woke her up to bid farewell to the male-folk and Little Sister and I high-tail it to Michaels. She picks out a $1.00 prize and I buy washi-tape. Because, obviously, I don't have enough. That's how we roll.
We ordered soup to go from our favorite soup place and dine like queens at our newly resurfaced kitchen table.
We pajamed up. Jumped on the bed. Watched Toy Story 3. We yodeled.
At 11:30 Little Sister lost it.
She doesn't process out of the ordinary all that well.
Daddy was missing. Bedtime was off. She needed to kiss her boys. Mommy is not part of the go-to-bed routine. The air mattress in the living room floor was too much. And down we went.
At 3:00 a.m. Little Sister was tired of screaming and she went to sleep. With her hind parts in the air and her head down like an ostrich. I dared not even so much as to breathe deeply near her.
We slept 4 hours and then Daddy, who didn't have all of the blessed details yet, woke us up.
Daddy went to bed. We went back to Toy Story.
We tried to be quiet and not wake anyone else up. For the next eight hours.
All future pajama parties will, in fact, be held by Daddy.
The End.
Wait, no, also, we made colored rice.
Put rice into a Ziploc. A few drops of food coloring. A few drops of rubbing alcohol. Squish it all up. Pour it on a cookie sheet. Let it dry overnight. Do not let you kid eat it.
The colored rice was a big hit. We added cups, spoons and some toys into the mix. We're working on some sensory processing things, and this was a fun activity for that.
An hour later rice started flying and we packed it up for another day.
But not today.
God has surely blessed us with this busy girl. He didn't promise it would be a daily plate of cheer. This is our good, good life. We are blessed by it. We are also quite tired. Sometimes frazzled. Always thankful.
Have a happy Monday friends!
God is good, all the time!
Linking up with Carissa!
