My kids are officially back to school.
Jordan is in 10th grade.
Riley is in 8th grade.
Kendra is 2... going on 21.
(Otherwise known as the pre-K 2 class)
Our first morning of school went smoothly.
Everyone had a hot breakfast (yay!) that they served themselves.
We left on time.
There were no missing socks, or shoes or imaginary puppies.
We dropped the boys off at their schools first and then waited our turn to take Kendra to her school.
I wasn't expecting any big drama or the likes of a clingy girl.
I was expecting a hug and a kiss. Maybe a big see you later exit.
Possibly a high five.
I got nothing.
More of a hurry up and leave, I have things to do here kind of thing.
She wouldn't even look up for me to take her picture.
Also, if you must know, Little Sister always, always, always goes for the boy toys first.
Trucks, trains, cars, dinosaurs, aliens.
She has to work her way up to girl stuff.
She always asks to watch a show, say like Diego. Then about a minute into it she will proclaim it a boy show and request a change. Then Miss Sassy Pants will say she wants to watch Cars or Toy Story because those are for girls.
Anyway, first day of school went fantastic for everyone.
Hopefully, day two, ten and fifty-seven will be just a good.
God is good, all the time.
